Ginny and I got some devastating news a few weeks ago. I needed some time to process it all before writing about it. Think Social Publications decided to only accept manuscripts written by their writing team. This means our contract was canceled 😦
On the bright side, they did invite us to apply to be a part of the new writing team. Needless to say we were shocked, hurt, and very disappointed. We worked so hard putting the curriculum together and getting into manuscript form.
To make things even more depressing, our program at Perry Harrison has had little to no administrative support this year. The school focus has shifted towards STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with the new administrators, but I do not see that as something against what TSF does. If students are not in a learning environment where they feel valued and supported, they will get very little from a STEM approach. TSF was even taken out of the school improvement plan, which really hit home that our program no longer belongs at the school.
So, time to move forward. Chin up, head high, and knowing what we do matters.
