scholarship fund

My mom had some investments from when she worked at RJ Reynolds. I have been working with a financial advisor who is setting up a scholarship fund for Girls TALK. This means up to 3 scholarships per year in my mom’s name for the rest of my life. I wish my mom had Girls TALK when she was a young child. She had so many insecurities and self-doubts.

Feeling very honored to be able to use the funds in this way and hope this scholarship fund will help me heal and remember my mom in a positive way over the years to come.

Final lesson of the school year (WOM)

What a great final lesson of the school year! We reviewed the importance of “thinking it through” before we say or do something, how to problem solve issues with friends, and the importance of always being true to yourself. I read The Book With No Pictures, which as I suspected was a hit with giggles and laughs.

Then we headed outside for some water balloon FUN! Check out my pics. They make me chuckle when I look at them.

Never give up

This week’s lesson was on the importance of never giving up. Book reading: Rosie Revere, Engineer. We made Rosie copters and did some trouble-shooting as to how to best make them fly.

I love this quote from Rosie. I gave a copy to all the girls this week.

We ended with some fun Minute It To Win It Games. Take that rainy day…we still had fun!
