I have been writing on this blog since August of 2011. The program has evolved over the years, so I thought it might be helpful for readers to know how to find certain aspects of the program via the Archive links on the right hand side of the screen.
August 2011 – May 2103 the program focused on a social thinking curriculum for elementary age children, based on the work of Michelle Garcia Winner. There are lesson overviews, feedback from teachers and students, and even some videos of lessons.
August 2013 – May 2016 the focused shifted to an after school program for girls. The initial name of the program was Girls TALK, then Friends TALK. I will be forever grateful to the many girls at Briar Chapel, Glenwood Elementary, and Willow Oak Montessori for these 3 years.
The summer and fall of 2016, Samantha and I shifted the focus to a podcast format. A mom and daughter team talking about issues facing tween girls. There are 19 recorded episodes that you can listen to from the blog.
I am still working on the book – Let’s TALK: A Problem-Solving Curriculum for Girls which should be published by the end of 2016. Be sure to check out the Friends TALK website for book updates… and maybe even future books!
